Made of solid teak, this writing desk is an authentic replica. Traditionally used by the muneem or munshi  (accountant ) to keep their employer's accounts these writing desks are ideal for those people who prefer writing while sitting on the floor. Gently sloping to the front the genuine leather top can be opened. Underneath is a large storage compartment for papers pens and other writing utensils. At the back is beautifully carved fretwork decoration finished with hand turned spindles along with a small door compartment. Small turned legs decorate the otherwise unadorned floor writing desk.This piece is hand finished using the unique six stage hand rub polish technique in walnut finish.This product is handcrafted and therefore slight variations in colours, textures and forms are inevitable and aren’t flaws
